Mrs. Eetha Gardenia (Durant) Thompson , 88, of Fayetteville, NC passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Heritage Place Senior Living, Fayetteville, NC.

The funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, February 28, 2025 at College Heights Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, NC.

Interment at Rockfish Memorial Park, Fayetteville, NC.

Eetha was born in Pinewood, SC on October 29, 1936 to Susan Green and Leroy Durant.  She attended Rosenwald High School in Fairmont, NC and obtained a nursing degree from Kate Bitting Nursing School in Winston-Salem, NC.  Eetha worked as a registered nurse at Cape Fear Valley Hospital and for 30 years as nurse supervisor at Fayetteville State University.

She is survived by her HUSBAND - Harold Thompson; DAUGHTERS - Branita (Eric) Mann of Jacksonville, FL and Karen Thompson of Atlanta, GA; SON - Darryl (Suzette) Thompson of Miami, FL; SISTER -Elizabeth Woodyard of Port Huron, MI; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
