Rev. Leonard Earl Royal, Sr., 61, of 21 Tarheel Drive, Clinton, died Monday at Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, June 2, 2007 at First Baptist Church, Clinton . Rev. Gordon Griffen, officiating. Burial in Sandhills Cemetery, Clinton.

Rev. Royal was the son of the late Chester and Reidie Harding Royal. He graduated from Sampson High School and North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, and was employed with Jim Warren Mobile Homes where he retired. He served as pastor of the First Missionary Church Abbotsburg of Bladenburg.

Rev. Royal is survived by WIFE -Louise T. Royal of the home, DAUGHTERS -Sheila Skinner of Clinton, Shevelle Powell of Whiteville, NC, Shevonne Powell of Lumberton, NC, Lynette Powell of Pittsburgh, PA, SONS -Patrick Stewart of Sanford, NC, Tyrone Stewart of Fayetteville, NC, Leonard E. Royal, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, SISTER -Shirlene Devane of Clinton, 14 grandchildren.
